Here are some of the most frequently asked questions made by clients during their initial enquiries. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any kind of question or need further clarification.

  1. Do I need to pay a deposit when making a booking?

    Yes. I require a £50 deposit for every booking. Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of a completed booking form and a deposit. Bookings can either be made online or via post. Online bookings will receive a copy of their booking form and terms & conditions via email. Postal booking will receive two hard copies of the booking form, one of which is to be returned by post. If you wish to pay the deposit by cheque, then this can be included. Alternatively the deposit can be paid via PayPal or BACS transfer. To view a PDF of my terms and conditions please click here!

    I now can offer online booking which saves you time, saves paper and means your booking is completed and confirmed in double quick time.
  2. What kind of music do you play?

    I play whatever is right for you and your guests. I always consult with clients as to their preferences regarding musical policy. I also encourage their contribution to the evenings playlist. I have been DJ'ing for well over 25 years in night-clubs and universities as well as at weddings, corporate functions and private parties. My musical knowledge is pretty good too and has been helped by working in music shops both in the UK and Europe for most of my adult life.
  3. Do you take requests?

    Yes! I always ask for clients to suggest a selection of tunes upfront to give me an idea of their musical preferences and always ask for requests from guests throughout the event. When you book your event you now have the opportunity of inviting your guests to request tunes, leave a message or dedication online ahead of the event.
  4. How long does it take to set up your gear? Do I get charged for that?

    Firstly the client is not charged for the set up and breakdown times. All charges relate to the actual performance times and the amount of equipment required for the function. Times can vary depending on the size of the event. Broadly speaking it takes about 1 hour from the time the equipment is in the room to set up and the same for breakdown. For smaller events a bit less for larger events a bit more.
  5. Can I meet you before we decide to book?

    Yes of course! I meet with all wedding / civil ceremony clients as a matter of course within a 60 mile radius of the DD1 postcode. I'm also happy to meet any other client or potential clients if requested. For clients that are based further afield meetings can be held via the phone or Skype.
  6. The venue I have booked for my event needs to know whether you have PAT & PLI?

  7. Can you provide us with an invoice?

    Yes! All clients will receive a numbered invoice which also details the terms and methods of payment.
  8. I have been let down at the last minute are you available?

    I might be? The number of times I have answered the phone and been asked that question is frightening and depressing. There are steps that you can take to avoid this happening…
    • Book with a company that provide you with a detailed booking from
    • Be suspicious of those who don't take deposits
    • Do they have a landline and an address at which you can get a hold of them
    • Are they happy to meet with you prior to the event.
    • Are they members of industry bodies like DJmark, NADJ or Mobile DJ Network?
